MEMBER CATEGORIES
Academy of Forensic Nursing Science offers categories of membership to any individual or group after completion and acceptance of the application and the academy’s terms of membership. The board may decline membership without assigning any reason. All membership dues are non refundable and nontransferable.
Professional Member
An individual professionally licensed individual, interested or directly involved in forensic disciplines. To register as a professional member, you must be a registered nurse.
Membership is valid for one year.
Annual Fee: $65 US
Student Affiliate Member
At the time an application is being considered for approval, the applicant for student affiliate status must be enrolled fulltime in their primary nursing program and has never held license as a registered nurse. Each Student Affiliate must certify eligibility annually. Student affiliate members may not vote or hold office in the organization. Membership is valid for one year.
Annual Fee: $50 US
Group Member
Educational institutions, law enforcement, hospitals, vendors and other organizations that would like to officially align and support the AFNS mission. Membership entitles the bearer to all of the benefits and privileges granted by AFNS. Membership is valid for one year.
Membership Dues: 1-6 individual memberships, $60 per person, 7-12 individual memberships, $58 per person. For memberships above 13 individuals per group, contact our corporate office.
Lifetime Member
Lifetime membership is valid for the duration of the present lifetime of the holder. Life membership shall continue until the member’s death or until the member relinquishes membership. Lifetime Membership entitles the holder to all of the benefits and privileges granted by IAFP. Membership dues $1500 US
Honorary Member
Honorary membership is reserved for individuals, members or non-members, past or present, who have contributed distinguished service to the field of forensic science. Eligibility for Honorary Member status shall be based upon nomination by majority vote of the Board of Directors and confirmation by majority vote. Membership entitles the holder to all of the benefits and privileges granted by AFNS. Honorary membership shall continue until the member’s death or until the member relinquishes membership.
Founding Member
Special status of founding member is granted to members who are responsible for the initial creation of the International Academy of Forensic Professionals. This special status is valid for the lifetime of the member. Founding Members are eligible for all benefits and privileges of AFNS as announced, including a Founding Member Lifetime pin and membership card. There are four founding members. This membership is no longer available.
